Four Truths Everyone Should Reckon With

First truth, you are Special! God created you to have fellowship with Him, to glorify and enjoy Him forever.  The image of God stamped in your being makes you really special and superior to all other created things. God has a purpose for your existence. Through your life, God will display His glory.

Second truth, Sin separates you from God! This is the reason why you are empty, in pain & insatiably thirsty!  It is sin or rebellion against God that draws you away from Him. The pride and the desire for independence from Him resulted from an inherited sin from Adam and Eve. The internal pain and longing is actually as big as God, because it is actually a longing for fellowship with Him, a relationship that was broken due to sin. Nothing in this world will ever quench that thirst within; not flame, not wealth, not power, not even drugs or sex nor anything this world can offer. If you are internally connected with yourself, you will recognize that internal longing and yearning for something you just can’t figure out what, but you know it needs to be satisfied. You’ve been trying everything but God, managing your life well without Him; denying the pain or at least avoiding it through your busy schedules and affairs.

Third truth, you are loved (unconditionally) despite your sins. The good news is somebody paid the penalty for the sins of the world, and that includes you. God proved His love when Jesus died at the cross for all sins! God is Holy and does not tolerate sin, yet He loves the sinner. He sent Jesus, His Son to pray for man’s sin, thereby punishing it through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross.

Fourth truth, Only Jesus can satisfy the longings of your soul! He knows and understands your pain because He Himself was separated from the Father when He bore the sins of the world & suffered the intolerable pain and death by crucifixion. He arose from the dead and lives forever to restore man’s broken fellowship with God. You need to Believe and Receive Jesus Christ to be saved, be reconciled with the Father and find rest for your soul!

The disposition of your heart bent toward God, seeking after Him and humbling yourself before Him is more important than any forms of ritual or religious act.  If you come to realize your need and longing for God and humbly acknowledge that He alone can quench the thirst in your soul through a restored fellowship with Him through His Son, then you can find what you have been yearning for through the following simple and contrite prayer.

A Prayer for Restoration

Heavenly Father, I thank you for making me special. I thank you for loving me despite my sins. I humbly acknowledge the pain and thirst of my soul, a longing that you alone can satisfy through your Son Jesus Christ. I now repent from my pride of independence from you and I confess that without you, I can do nothing; I cannot manage my life without your help. I now believe in my heart and confess Jesus as my Lord. I surrender my life over to His control. Make me the kind of person you want me to be and display your glory in my life.
