Asia’s Hope

Across the world, children are praying for help, literally dying for someone to notice their plight. Their parents have died or have abandoned them, and they’re facing a future with no hope. These children are vulnerable to the worst kinds of sexual and economic exploitation.

Asia’s Hope is indigenous, grassroots and non-denominational. The 14 orphan homes in Cambodia and Northern Thailand provide loving, Christian families for children who once lived each day in despair.

Asia’s Hope and Grace Place Orphanage

• Asia’s Hope is an organization that cooperates with Grace Brethren Churches. Their mission is to come alongside existing ministries in Asia to provide educational, physical, and spiritual help to the poorest of the poor. Pastor Dave Atkins founded Asia’s Hope in 2002 while on the pastoral staff at Wooster Grace. He finally transitioned full-time to direct Asia’s Hope in 2006.
• Wooster Grace partners with Asia’s Hope to build a new orphanage in Battambang, Cambodia. This new orphanage is Wooster Grace’s where an ongoing relationship with the children who live there and the caregivers who work there.
• Wooster Grace has engaged this partnership because the needs are great. We are doing this in partnership with three other orphanages in Battambang. Battambang is a key city in the ministry strategy of the Grace Brethren International Missions where our own missionary partners, Kevin & Jill Kane serve. So this endeavor dovetails with our ongoing desire to develop all people into fully devoted followers of Jesus in all the nations of the world.
• The project costs are estimated as $30,000 for construction, $6,000 for start-up expenses (beds, sheets, furniture, utensils, pots and pans, etc.), and $2000 per month continuing operation expenses for the orphanage.
• Wooster Grace will initially seek to sponsor 20 children and then prayerfully discern to sponsor up to 40 children in our Grace Place orphanage.
