He is Able

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”

- Ephesians 3:20

My God can do anything. He is the Creator of the universe. He makes all things around us. He gave us the sun, moon, stars, galaxies, quasars and the air that we breathe. How lovely are all His wondrous works!

There is an inexhaustible fullness of grace and favor in Him. All the prayers of the saints are answered. He said “I will supply all your needs”. How great is that fact! There will be an enormous supply of His blessings.

Maslow has set up a hierarchic theory of needs. All of his basic needs are instinct to humans. Maslow’s basic needs are as follows:

  1. Physiological Needs. These are basic needs. They consist of needs for oxygen, food, water, and a relatively constant body temperature.
  2. Safety Needs. When all physiological needs are satisfied, the needs for security come next.
  3. Needs of Love, Affection and Belongingness. When the needs for safety and for physiological well-being are satisfied, the next class of needs for love, affection and belongingness can emerge. Maslow states that people do not like loneliness and alienation but instead need to give and receive love, affection and the sense of belonging.
  4. Needs for Esteem. People need to have self-respect and respect from others. When these needs are frustrated, the person feels inferior, weak, helpless and worthless.
  5. Needs for Self-Actualization. Maslow describes self-actualization as a person’s need to be and do that which the person was “born to do.” In a simple term, a person needs to discover his purpose. A musician must make music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write. These needs make themselves felt in signs of restlessness if they have not accomplished what they need to do.

God is able to meet all the needs which Maslow explained. He provides us with our physiological needs. He can even supply us with our daily needs and necessities in life like food, raiment and shelter.

He provides our safety needs. Even in our travels, we can be assured of His promises. In Psalms 121: 7 to 8, “The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

He loves us unconditionally that is our foundation of loving our selves and loving other people. Being rooted in His love, we do have self-respect and we get respect from others. Our self-image is intact. We are not insecure because we know that we are created in His image.

Because of God, we know our purpose. Our life is precious and enjoyable because of our defined purpose. Remember our lives are great blessings from God. He can give us happy and powerful lives if we can draw closer to Him.

He can do immeasurably more than we can ever hope for or imagine. He is able!
