So the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
– Genesis 3:14-15 NIV
Here is the short account of what the Lord our creator pronounced to the serpent at the Garden of Eden after Satan succeeded in tempting the woman through him. Notice that the last part revealed the plan of the Lord our God to defeat the devil through man himself – the seed of the woman.

Satan as most of us know was Lucifer, the anointed cherub who became ambitious and desired to ascend the highest throne which belongs to God alone. Once proven guilty of that ambitious pride, the Lord God threw him out of heaven into the darkness.

No matter how beautiful and anointed Lucifer was, the Lord our God did not exert any effort to redeem him and turn him back from sin and guilt. Instead, he was driven out of the kingdom of heaven without any regret or remorse.

When Lucifer fell, heaven was intact. No mourning in heaven was recorded. No pity or regret came from the God who spent eternity with this cherub and those who followed him.

But it was different in the case of Adam and Eve and the rest of mankind. When the humans that God created fell, he devised a plan to redeem him and defeat the one who tempted and provoked him to do so. Man’s life, though it became complicated, continued. He still enjoyed the beauty of the whole creation that was made for him to rule and have dominion of. And if heaven was intact when Lucifer fell, in man’s case heaven was shaken. A person who belongs there was given as a gift to mankind, to die as redemption to the faults of man. God the Father afforded to lose someone dear to him in order for man to be brought back to him.

Have you noticed how precious we are as humans to our creator? He gave his only son, Jesus as a replacement to us in our obligation of death and punishment because of sin. That’s how much he loves you and me.

Let us now allow the Lord our creator to feel the love that comes from us now. He gave everything, even his own son for our salvation. Let us now forsake all our sins and ungodliness in response to the love that he continues to show. He regards us as one more precious than the angels who give him glory everyday, who praise and worship him in the heavenlies, who reveres him and obeys him at all times. He loves us even as humans we always turn our back on him and fail him. It’s about time we show him our love….
